Welcome to Megha Call Sense. We are committed to protecting your personal information and your right to privacy. This Privacy Policy governs the manner in which Megha Call Sense collects, uses, maintains, and discloses information collected from users of our mobile application and cloud dashboard.
1. Purpose of the Application
Megha Call Sense is a specialized utility designed strictly for two distinct purposes:
- Parental Control (B2C): To empower parents to monitor their children's call logs. This is to ensure their child's safety, allowing parents to verify that their children are not communicating with potentially harmful individuals and to protect them from danger.
- Employee Monitoring (B2B): To allow organizations and companies to track their employees' telecalling activities, justify working hours, and optimize business productivity based on accurate call durations and statistics.
2. Information We Collect
In order to provide the core functionality described above, our application requests access to sensitive permissions and collects the following data:
- Call Logs (READ_CALL_LOG): We collect details about incoming, outgoing, missed, and rejected calls. This includes the phone number, call duration, timestamp, and call status. This data is strictly used to populate the analytics dashboard for the parent or the employer.
- Phone State (READ_PHONE_STATE): Used to determine the current state of a call (e.g., ringing, off-hook, idle) in real-time.
- Audio Recording (Optional): If explicitly enabled by the administrator, the app may record call audio for quality, training, or safety purposes.
- Device Information: We may collect non-personal information such as device model, OS version, and network status to improve the stability of our application.
3. How We Use the Information
We use the collected information exclusively for the following purposes:
- To provide real-time call tracking and analytics on the web dashboard exclusively for the customer's private viewing.
- To allow parents to review their child's communication history for safety.
- To allow employers to measure the telecalling performance of their employees.
- To maintain and improve the security and performance of our services.
Strict Data Usage Policy: The company does not use the collected data for its own purposes. We merely act as a processor to store the data securely so that it can be displayed on the customer's private dashboard. We do not sell, rent, trade, or otherwise share your call logs or personal data with any unauthorized third parties, advertising networks, or data brokers.
4. Consent and Authorization
By installing and using the Megha Call Sense application, the user explicitly consents to the collection of call data. Furthermore:
- For Parental Control: The app must only be installed on devices owned by the parent or legally under the parent's control.
- For Employee Monitoring: Employers are legally obligated to inform their employees that their calls are being tracked and recorded, and must obtain written consent from the employees as required by local laws before installing this software on company-issued devices.
5. Data Security & Storage
We adopt industry-standard data collection, storage, and processing practices. All sensitive data exchanged between the app and our servers happens over secure, encrypted SSL/HTTPS communication channels. Data is stored securely in our cloud databases with strict access controls to prevent unauthorized access. Please Note: Currently, we are not able to store or process audio recordings. The audio recording feature is planned for a future update.
6. Data Retention and Auto-Deletion
We believe in strict data minimization. By default, all call logs and data are automatically deleted from our servers after 2 months (60 days). Account administrators (Parents or Employers) can permanently delete their data earlier directly from the web dashboard, or they can submit a formal request to our support team to put their data on hold and bypass the 2-month auto-deletion if required for compliance reasons.
7. Google Play Store Policy Compliance
In accordance with Google Play Developer Policies regarding User Data, Permissions, and APIs that Access Sensitive Information, we enforce the following compliance standards:
- Prominent Disclosure: Before any data collection begins, our app displays a prominent in-app disclosure explaining exactly what data is collected (Call Logs), why it is collected, and how it will be used. User consent must be explicitly granted via an affirmative action (e.g., tapping "Accept" or "Agree").
- Data Handling & Encryption: All personal and sensitive user data is transmitted securely over HTTPS/SSL and encrypted at transit using industry-standard cryptography. We do not expose this data to unauthorized external APIs or third-party brokers.
- Restricted Permissions: We request the
READ_CALL_LOG and READ_PHONE_STATE permissions strictly to provide the core functionalities of Parental Control and Enterprise Monitoring, which are permitted use cases under Google Play's Permissions policy.
- Continuous Awareness: The application runs transparently. A persistent foreground notification is displayed to ensure the device user is always aware that the app is active and monitoring in the background.
- Runtime Permissions & User Control: Our application explicitly requests sensitive permissions (such as Microphone, Camera, and Photos/Storage) at runtime. The user is presented with a clear "Allow" or "Deny" prompt. These permissions are requested so the app can function fully (e.g. taking a profile picture, recording audio logs if enabled). Users grant these permissions out of their own free will and can revoke them at any time from their device settings. The data collected via these permissions is kept strictly private for the user's dashboard and is never made public.
8. Indian Legal & Regulatory Compliance
As a service operating in India, Megha Call Sense complies with the legal frameworks governing data protection, privacy, and employer-employee monitoring:
- Information Technology Act, 2000 (IT Act): We comply with Section 43A of the IT Act regarding the implementation of reasonable security practices and procedures to protect sensitive personal data.
- IT (SPDI) Rules, 2011: We adhere strictly to the Sensitive Personal Data or Information (SPDI) Rules by obtaining explicit consent before collecting sensitive data, maintaining a transparent privacy policy, and ensuring robust data encryption.
- Employee Monitoring Laws: Under Indian law, employers have the right to monitor company-owned devices. However, employers utilizing our B2B services are legally mandated to inform their employees in writing and obtain signed consent acknowledging that their calls and device activities are being tracked for official business purposes.
- Grievance Redressal: In compliance with the IT Act, any grievances or discrepancies related to data privacy can be directed to our designated Grievance Officer via the contact details provided below.
